Started in 1980, with a small group traveling from the Blau Weiss Tennis Club to Werne, the town also later being twinned with St Annes, the journey sees players from St Annes visiting Germany every other year.

This year, 12 visitors from Germany have lifted the annual trophy after their 4-2 win over St Annes Tennis Club.

The Wyredale Road-based club was founded in 1901 and has over 330 members.
