Ondo APC Group Rejects Consensual Arrangement

Days before the All Progressives congressional senatorial primary in Ondo state, a group under the auspices of Victor Ategbole’s Campaign Council has rejected the alleged plan to have a consensus candidate in the federal constituency of Akoko South East / South West of the state.

It was found that the party leadership and other stakeholders would have agreed to have a consensus candidate in the primary in the federal constituency, but the group said such an arrangement was unacceptable.

This was in a statement from the head of media management

Victor Ategbole campaign advice, Inumidun Jacobs, Friday.

The group urged the party leadership to provide a level playing field for all primary candidates, saying it would not agree to such an arrangement.

The group said: “It is imperative to note that at no time was our principal consulted or agreed with anyone, whether in the party or those named as stakeholders. or party leaders in Ondo North or elsewhere, to give up trying to represent the good people of our federal constituency by entering into a consensual agreement.

“What we know for a fact that cannot be denied is that there are very sinister, fraudulent and undemocratic moves by some people to unfairly favor one aspirant against others, especially our principal who is considered the candidate to beat in the elections.

“We are aware that the lists of delegates agreed in the various districts of the federal constituency have been falsified or outright manipulated against other aspirants. We are also aware that the lists sent from the various districts of Akoko South-East/Akoko South-West were tampered with inside the room of one of the aspirants to Akure by agents of those who wanted to impose this unpopular candidate for our party in our federal riding”.
