HICKORY, NC — High-end furniture and home accessories brand Maitland-Smith has acquired luxury goods company Scarborough House.

Maitland-Smith, part of the Rock House Farm family of brands, parent company to other brands including Century Furniture and Hickory Chair, will represent the brand and integrate a selection of existing designs as part of a collection.

The Scarborough House collection for Maitland-Smith will include over 150 unique pieces and will be available to order June 1.

The deal includes Scarborough’s High Point showroom at 200 Steele. The Scarborough House suite on the first floor will be converted into the Maitland-Smith showroom. Maitland-Smith products will also continue to be displayed in their current showroom at 200 Steele, third floor.

“I am delighted at this opportunity for Scarborough House and Maitland-Smith,” said Di-Ann Williams, Chair of Scarborough House. “Partnerships have been a critical part of our success, and I’m confident Maitland Smith will continue this approach in the future.”

“The integration of Scarborough House as part of the Maitland-Smith collection is a key part of our growth strategy,” said Federico Contigiani, Managing Director of Maitland-Smith. “Scarborough House is known for its exceptional craftsmanship and quality, and offers an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience in our industry. I look forward to working with Jonathan and his factory to expand Maitland Smith’s offering and market presence.

“These two brands offer a range of styles that are unique to the market,” said Jonathan Buxton, owner of Scarborough House. “Maitland-Smith understands the importance of our plant’s capabilities, and I can’t think of a better place for it to reside.”
