We are an established and published interior design firm located in New York City with a strong reputation for high quality “restaurant design” and food related “retail design”. We are looking for a Junior Interior Decorator.

Our work environment is energetic, friendly and supportive. Flexibility with the schedule is possible.

For someone at the start of their design career, this is a great opportunity to gain first-hand collaborative experience in all phases of the design process, and a chance to participate in a wide variety of hands-on hospitality, restaurant and retail design experiences. Responsibilities include participation with:

  • Design development
  • Interaction with customers
  • Project coordination and management
  • Construction documentation with Autocad and SketchUp
  • Interior architectural details
  • Design and details of custom joinery
  • Research and specification of materials
  • FF&E Research and Specification
  • Observation of construction

Our work includes a wide variety of small to medium sized hospitality projects. Projects are fast with short deadlines. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is desirable. Candidates must be able to work directly with the lead designer, clients, and/or all team members on projects from initial concept through completion.

The academic and professional experience required is a degree of at least 4 years in interior design or architecture. Prefer a minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional experience in a design or architecture office, but other experiences will be considered.

Proficiency in Autocad, SketchUp, Photoshop/Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge and skills in lighting design, graphic design, hand drawing and photography are all desirable and a plus.

Good organizational and communication skills are required, as well as fluency in oral and written English.

Full-time salary based on experience. Benefits include full health insurance, PTO, flexible hours.
